Technical Committee of the Amazon Fund - CTFA

The Technical Committee of the Amazon Fund (CTFA) is responsible for validating the carbon emissions from deforestation, calculated by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA). It should evaluate the methodology for calculating deforested area and the amount of carbon per hectare used in the emission estimate.
CTFA meetings take place once a year and, extraordinarily, as many times as necessary.

CTFA is formed by renowned technical and scientific specialists appointed by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change after consulting the Brazilian Forum on Climate Change. Participation in the CTFA - for a period of three years, renewable once - is considered of public interest, which entails no kind of remuneration.
